Tea and homemade cake is served to Wolsey Lodge visitors on arrival, by the inglenook in the cheerful drawing room or in the garden, depending on the season. This delightful luxury Wolsey Lodge B&B is beautifully furnished and adorned with many watercolours and fascinating old maps.
Breakfast and supper by prior arrangement)is served in the conservatory dining room overlooking the garden. Bedrooms – one in the main house with magnificent views of fields where the owners' sheep graze, the other in the adjoining barn conversion with private sitting room - have en suite bathrooms, televisions, hospitality trays and goose down pillows and duvets.
Your B&B Hosts
Richard, a Circuit Judge, combines this with caring for their rare breed livestock and gardening alongside Sue, a retired teacher. He is a keen golfer and enjoys opera and collecting wine. B&B guests will appreciate Sue’s passion and skill in cooking, using home produced meat, vegetables and homemade preserves. Local hostelries are recommended for guests wishing to dine out.
Cheddington, dating back to the Domesday Book, is in the Chiltern Hills and has its own station, with fast trains to London in only 45 minutes, making this an ideal location for city dwellers fancying a Wolsey Lodge country break. Its proximity to major trunk roads and the M1 makes it a great stopover for travellers too, but it is also the perfect base to explore an abundance of National Trust properties and walks.
