The Grade II listed Wolsey Lodge luxury B&B, in stunning Cumbrian countryside, a former public house, was built in 1832 and is a beautiful place to hide away and relax. The original part of the property is late Georgian with stone flagged entrance hall. Parts have exposed beams and quirky features reflect its fascinating history with old maps, photos and documents adorning the walls. Thoughtful extras like a boot room for walkers, laundry and ironing facilities, the lounge where guests relax and mingle, an honesty bar, and the availability of delicious home-cooked dinners or packed lunches (all by prior arrangement) are typical of the warm hospitality found at this luxury B&B guest accommodation near Hadrian’s Wall.
Comfortable, well-appointed bedrooms, some in the adjacent Blacksmith’s Cottage, are individually decorated, have en suite facilities and interesting details such as wooden, upholstered headboards, crafted nearby. Freshly cooked breakfasts are generous and include locally produced bacon, Cumberland sausage, free-range eggs or popular vegetarian alternatives like Craster kippers or ‘Heuvos Rancheros’. Meals are served in a relaxed convivial atmosphere, where Wolsey Lodge Luxury B&B visitors from all over the world can make new friends.
