Just a brief detour from the M6 to this fabulous early Victorian country house luxurious B&B set in eight acres of its own grounds (with ancient oak tree) and approached via a tree-lined drive. Ample guest parking is available and Wolsey Lodge B&B guests are assured a warm welcome complete with tea and scones in front of an open fire, in Winter.

The spectacular B&B guest bedrooms are furnished with antiques; spacious en suite bath or shower rooms, and views over the grounds, sheep grazing and the North Pennines or Scottish hills beyond. Each is colour themed and offers every luxury one might require including top quality beds, fluffy towels, fine linens and state-of-the-art television and audio.

Wolsey Lodge guests are welcome to relax on the Chesterfield sofas in the Morning Room, well stocked with DVD's, plus a wide selection of books and board games. Complimentary visitor access to the local leisure centre’s swimming pool is also available.

Hearty, freshly cooked breakfasts are served in true Wolsey Lodge luxury style in the elegant wood-panelled dining room. Breakfasts here will certainly set guests up for the day, whether they be staying to explore the locale or continuing on their journey.

Just seven miles from Carlisle and four from Hadrian’s Wall, it is well positioned for exploring the Lake District and the Northumberland National Parks. The area offers something for all interests, with castles, Roman forts, museums and lots more.
