Described as ‘Stretes ahead’ this 16th Century luxury manor house is perfect for Wolsey Lodge B&B guests exploring the glorious Dartmouth area. With extensive grounds and panoramic sea views across Start Bay and the headland, B&B visitors approach through an immaculate walled garden.
The house was extensively yet sympathetically renovated by Stuart and Kevin, whose warm welcome for their Wolsey Lodge guests and attention to detail encourage repeat visits. Contemporary, designer furnishings, Asian artefacts collected during their travels and stylish touches combine for a distinctive rural retreat luxury B&B. The inviting sitting room with a real fire is the ideal place to unwind with a book taken from the library.
Six generously proportioned B&B bedrooms, including one suite, some with sea views, are all beautifully decorated. Five have en suite and one a private bathroom. Large beds, fine linens, luxury mattresses, down pillows and a hospitality tray are standard, plus indulgent toiletries. A clothes/boot drying room is an extra consideration if required.
Your B&B Hosts
Stuart and Kevin moved here eight years ago, having both worked in London. A long-standing dream to run a luxury B&B was realised when this gorgeous house came on the market. Kevin still works a few days each week in Chambers in London, while Stuart looks after guests.
They love this area, provide extensive information packs of local information in their B&B bedrooms and are pleased to recommend and book local restaurants, some just a short stroll from the house.
Five miles from multi-cultural Dartmouth, handy for sailing at Salcombe or visiting Kingsbridge, this is ideally situated for exploring the South Hams area and beaches. For walkers, the South West Coast Path is just 30 metres away and golfing clients are offered a discount at the Dartmouth Golf & Country Club. Many regattas and festivals, including food, music and The International Festival of Worm Charming take place locally.
