A Wolsey Lodge with a view is what you can expect when you visit North Walk House - and what a view! Situated right on the South West Coast path, looking out over Lynmouth Bay and across to Wales, this large Victorian cliff top residence has been a guest house from1880, since when generations of guests have enjoyed the cliffside garden. Today’s visitors appreciate it while dining on the terrace, enjoying breathtaking views - weather permitting of course.
Inside it offers 21st century comforts, while recognising its Victorian heritage. This Wolsey Lodge is homely and welcoming, yet understatedly stylish with stripped pine boards, open fires, an eclectic rug collection and a cosy sitting room packed with books and local information. Bedrooms have wonderful sea views, en suite facilities, furniture made by local craftsmen and the king size doubles have brass beds with orthopaedic mattresses. Egyptian cotton linen, heated towel rails and designer toiletries, there’s everything you need for a relaxing, home from home, Wolsey Lodge stay.
Organic ingredients, locally sourced, feature prominently on the breakfast and dinner menus. Meals are served at the large farmhouse style table in the dining room which overlooks the sea. The homemade granola is especially popular with Wolsey Lodge B&B guests, as are freshly baked homemade breads and home produced preserves.
Your B&B Hosts
Ian and Sarah both enjoyed ‘people-focused’ careers prior to moving to North Walk House, and it shows. They love sharing their house with Wolsey Lodge B&B guests and their extensive local knowledge is a great bonus to visitors seeking information. Their exceptional welcome is just one of the many reasons guests return time and time again.
Where Exmoor meets the sea it’s the perfect base for exploring the North Devon coast. Lynton and its twin village Lymouth are ‘Jewels in the Crown’ of Exmoor National Park. Walkers are in their element, as are wildlife lovers, photographers and anyone loving the great outdoors. But there are also National Trust properties, steam railways, craft centres and much, much more for Wolsey Lodge guests to discover.
