Many Wolsey Lodge luxury bed and breakfast (B&B) houses are historically important and Huish Manor near Blandford Forum in Dorset is no exception. This very pretty, Grade II listed house, built in 1792, is approached along an attractive tree lined drive and is fronted by a large lawn with a pretty walled garden at the back and an adjoining small wood, orchard, and paddocks.
The house has attractive well proportioned rooms as befits a house of this period. The drawing room and dining room are available for B&B guests' use and are furnished with antiques and a fine collection of marine paintings. The dining room is particularly elegant with a log fire, lit when appropriate, at both dinner and breakfast.
The bed and breakfast guest bedrooms are large, with antique furniture and beds made up with linen sheets and warm blankets. Each has its own bathroom, one with a power shower, and enjoy calming views either onto the front lawn, or the walled garden at the back.
