Within the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this fabulous Wolsey Lodge luxury B&B offers self-contained, extraordinarily comfortable guest accommodation, set in a magnificent garden with glorious bucolic surroundings.
‘The Guest House’ at Manor Cottage has a huge downstairs area where Wolsey Lodge B&B guests can relax in a comfortable sitting room complete with television, books, magazines and local information. With enormous full length windows, the room offers views of the sunny private terrace and valley. Also on the ground floor is a wet room and kitchenette. Upstairs, under exposed wood beams, is the vast double bedroom which has spectacular views of the terraced garden. Planted for scent and colour, the garden boasts collections of old-fashioned roses, jasmine and honeysuckle. With swimming pool (which Wolsey Lodge guests are welcome to use in summer) and a carp pond, this is unsuitable for young children.
A generous cooked breakfast is served in Manor Cottage, or Continental breakfast can be delivered to ‘The Guest House’, whichever guests prefer. Home produced and locally sourced produce are used, and delicious evening meals are offered in Manor Cottage, by prior arrangement.
Your B&B Hosts
Sue enjoyed a number of different careers but since retirement has become ‘traveller extraordinaire’, trekking on horseback across some of the world’s most remote regions. An award-winning writer and accomplished photographer, she still finds time to garden and cook! Her hospitality skills are equally strong and although the luxury B&B accommodation is separate from Manor Cottage, Sue is a warm, welcoming and informative Wolsey Lodge B&B host.
The market town of Cirencester, often called ‘the capital of the Cotswolds’, was the second largest town in Britain in Roman times and is steeped in history. There is much to see and do in this pretty part of England with festivals, numerous sporting events, gardens, castles and a Roman Villa to name just a few ideas.
