Luxury B&B accommodation in North Yorkshire - Set behind high garden walls in the pretty North Yorkshire market town of Helmsley sits Ryedale House, an elegant Grade II listed Georgian town house with a foothold in a bustling town and an escape to the countryside just moments away.
Home to your B&B hosts Michael and Debbie Howard, the house is furnished with a mix of antique and contemporary furniture complemented by sculptures, family photographs and paintings. There are also many books for guests to while away their time perhaps in the large sitting room in winter or relaxing in the garden on a summer’s evening.
Affording excellent views across Helmsley to the North Yorkshire Moors beyond and closer of the castle and garden, the luxury B&B guest bedrooms are located on the first and second floor with private bathrooms for each room. Debbie’s flair for interior design is evident in the pretty and highly comfortable décor and Wolsey Lodges’ guests’ every comfort has been provided for including Egyptian cotton bed linen, a well-stocked tea tray, hairdryer, bathrobes and toiletries.
Outside the walled garden is a tranquil refuge that belies its town location and meals served al fresco in the summer are sure to be memorable. Breakfast is a typical North Yorkshire feast of local sausage, bacon and black pudding as well as a selection of homemade jams. Choosing to dine here guarantees equally quality fayre although there are numerous local restaurants to visit also.

Mike was brought up in Castle Howard and is a keen sportsman, representing the UK at the 1984 Winter Olympics for luging, and loves golf, tennis and motor biking. Debbie was a dress designer in London before moving to North Yorkshire in 2000 retaining her love of designing and cooking and of course now enjoys welcoming Wolsey Lodge guests to her perfectly located North Yorkshire luxury B&B accommodation.
Situated on the southern edge of Yorkshire Moors National Park, Castle Howard, Ampleforth, Rivaulx and Byland Abbeys, Nunnington, Hovingham, Newby and Beningbrough Halls all close by. York, Harrogate, Scarborough, Whitby and Thirsk are not to be missed.
