Splendidly set in 400 acres of the unspoilt Teme Valley sits the most delightful luxury bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation you could wish to find in Shropshire. Upper Buckton at Leintwardine near Craven Arms is an elegant Georgian farmhouse looking south over the river towards the Wigmore Rolls, and offers sophisticated hospitality in beautiful relaxed surroundings. A large, mature garden, a masterpiece in light and shade, is brimming with unusual herbaceous plants, flourishing lilies and hostas, around a 12th century motte, ha-ha and millstream.
Wolsey Lodge B&B guests are cosseted in this genteel, three storey gentleman's residence, with well proportioned and attractively decorated rooms, containing beautiful antiques and paintings, collected over many years. The elegant B&B accommodation bedrooms, with the emphasis on comfortable furnishings, have beautiful cotton appliqué sheets and pillowcases on the lovely beds, which can be either twin or super king doubles, and have en suite or private bathrooms complete with special finishing touches that Wolsey Lodge guests so like to enjoy in their chosen B&B.
Your B&B Hosts
Upper Buckton is home to Hayden and Yvonne Lloyd who have been farming here in Shropshire for over three decades. They have a wide knowledge and love of the surrounding Shropshire countryside and enjoy introducing their B&B guests to this unspoilt part of the Welsh Borders. They are warm hosts who endeavour to make guests feel immediately relaxed and at home in their haven of peace, luxury, good humour and great food. Yvonne's cooking is an imaginative and sophisticated blend of traditional and Cordon Bleu cooking. Hayden takes great care over the wine list, which features the best European and New World wines.
