The ParsonageBrochure Page. 70
An original historic Somerset Long House, built in the 1700’s, The Parsonage nestles in the pretty Somerset Levels village of Muchelney (meaning ‘great island’ in ancient English). Step through the timber and iron studded door of this luxury English home into a world of tranquillity, with flagstone floors and inglenook fireplace. The house has been extended in Georgian and Victorian times, adding further character. In winter, relax in the comfortable lounge in front of the roaring fire or in summer step out into the rose-scented garden, listen to birdsong and enjoy the fresh air and peacefulness.
The charming and stylish interior is beautifully furnished with lots of antiques and the attractively decorated bedrooms are light, airy and fresh. All have en suite or private bathrooms and are fully and thoughtfully equipped - as befitting a Wolsey Lodge luxury B&B - with everything a guest might need, including DVDs, books, torches, umbrellas plus toys for youngsters.
Generous, freshly cooked full English breakfasts are served in the elegant, richly decorated, oak beamed dining room.
Your B&B Hosts
With both having family backgrounds in hospitality, it isn’t surprising that Myles and Haidee are naturals when it comes to running this fabulous Wolsey Lodge luxury B&B. Myles also runs the family wholesale florist business, which supplies much of the south west, and spends his spare time gardening or indulging in his secret passion – cars from the 70’s. Now their family has flown the nest, they enjoy travelling and ballroom dancing (despite Myles apparently having two left feet!).
Muchelney is a tourist destination in its own right with Muchelney Abbey within easy walking distance. Taunton, Glastonbury, Yeovil and Sherborne are but a short drive away and the North Devon or Jurassic Coast an easy day out when using The Parsonage as a holiday base.
