Historic and luxury Suffolk B&B. Take a step back into history and prepare to be warmly welcomed into one of the most historic and stunning private homes offering luxurious B&B in Suffolk. West Stow Hall is a Grade I listed Tudor house, renovated in the 1840s and now home to Eileen and Andy Gilbert who have added every modern convenience to transform it into the most perfect Suffolk B&B retreat for Wolsey Lodge guests to enjoy.
Step through the ancient Gatehouse and the colonnade linking it to the main house to be greeted by the family dogs (sometimes noisy but really very friendly!) and a homemade afternoon tea of sumptuous proportions. You can spend a while marveling at the magnificent inglenook fireplace – reputedly the largest in Suffolk - and absorbing some of the history of this stunning B&B that is so apparent all around you.
There are large B&B guest bedrooms in the main house and in the garden there is a studio which, with its ground floor access, is ideally suited for less mobile guests. Each of these luxury B&B guest rooms is light and spacious and furnished with great care and attention to detail to ensure your stay here as a Wolsey Lodge guest is quite simply as comfortable as possible. A good night’s sleep is followed by a hearty Suffolk breakfast with eggs from the pet hens in the garden, cooked to perfection along with an array of fine, local fayre.
Surrounding the hall, Wolsey Lodge guests will appreciate the gardens featuring lavender lined paths, colourful flowers, an orchard and small woods. As well as being child-friendly, guests can, by arrangement, bring their horses and if staying in the Studio their dog for a small charge. A wide choice of nearby restaurants and pubs offers a choice of dining.

The West Stow Anglo Saxon Village, Ely Cathedral, Fullers Mill Gardens, Newmarket racing and Cambridge are all within eay reach along with the NT properties of Anglesea Abbey and Ickworth Hall.
