What makes a B&B truly outstanding and a delight to visit? We believe it is everything that’s on offer at the 16th century luxury B&B in Suffolk, Flindor Cottage in the rural idyll of Framsden, home to Mark Felton and his two children.
With close attention to detail he has created a luxurious B&B guest suite from a small barn adjoining the main house, a perfect arrangement which offers bed and breakfast guests secluded privacy, the other guest room is newly refurbished and is in the main house. Both are furnished with country antiques with a keen eye for comfortable and thoughtful touches such as the sleigh bed covered in fine cotton sheets. Absolutely nothing has been missed and your comfort is assured.
The bathrooms for each room do not have a shower (one has a roll top slipper bath, the other a Victorian roll top bath). However, if required guests can use the shower in the family bathroom in the main part of the cottage.
In winter, B&B guests will appreciate the cosy fires in the main house whilst in the summer the garden has a sheltered terrace to relax on. Tea and scrumptious homemade cakes and biscuits greet Wolsey Lodge guests on arrival and more homemade treats are offered at breakfast and dinner (if you decide to eat in). Altogether Flindor Cottage is simply a delight and we know you will enjoy staying here.
Your B&B Hosts
Given the opportunity of a complete change to his life Mark jumped at the chance to run this luxury B&B and enjoys entertaining guests along with his partner, Annabel. Having enjoyed a 25 year City career, Mark started a charter fishing business out of Southwold Harbour. Fresh fish is almost always on the menu.
In the heart of the Suffolk countryside with miles of public footpaths, Flindor Cottage offers a restful country getaway. It is however located just off the A1120 tourist route and is surrounded by numerous tourist attractions. The market towns of Framlingham and Woodbridge are close by and the coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold only a 30 minute drive away. Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich can be reached in under 40 minutes.
