Thurst House FarmBrochure Page. 94

This 17th century listed former farmhouse offers luxury bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation in the quiet countryside of Ripponden, close to Sowerby Bridge in West Yorkshire. Warm, welcoming and so hard to leave, it is difficult to believe that an early resident went off to become a general in the American Civil War!

Book-lined walls in the hall, where B&B guests can sit and browse, and an open fire in the sitting room, add to the cosy ambience. In the B&B accommodation there are three comfortable bedrooms with lovely views of the Yorkshire countryside and come with courtesy trays, biscuits, toiletries and fresh flowers for traditional country living. The antique brass double bed is made up with hand-crocheted bed linen and the twin bedroom with its oversize antique white and brass beds has another twin leading off for extra family space. Rest awhile in your luxury accommodation and dream peaceful dreams or wander round the rose-filled garden blooming all summer.

Your B&B Hosts

Your hosts at this West Yorkshire luxury B&B accommodation are David and Judith Marriott. B&B guests experience a real home-from-home. David was a bedding manufacturer so very comfortable beds are assured. Judith is a trained cook, so you can expect great traditional English cooking. She also makes her own bread, jams and marmalades, so breakfast is a rare treat that Wolsey Lodge guests will truly appreciate before a day spent exploring South Yorkshire! Judith also concentrates on the garden, tending the vegetables used in her cooking and making sure she has happy hens!
