The Old RectoryBrochure Page. 88A
This magnificent listed Georgian rectory, dating from 1790 and located in the centre of the village of Cradley, near Malvern in Worcestershire, is a delight for guests looking for luxury bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation. Retaining many original features and decorated and furnished in period style, Claire and her partner John have overseen the careful renovation of the house to create a beautiful home that Wolsey Lodge guests will really enjoy.
The hall, surmounted by a stunning atrium, has a curving staircase leading to the beautifully decorated bed and breakfast accommodation on the first floor and a B&B guest sitting room with television and open fireplace at the top of the house. The hall leads into the drawing room with its restored fireplace, carved and gilded wooden pelmets and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the garden. Also leading off the hall are the formal dining room with its superbly sophisticated décor adorned with Claire’s fabulous paintings, the Library with large sash windows and a scratched inscription on one pane (ask Claire or John about the historical Clerical dispute) and a delightful morning room.
Home grown vegetables and local Worcestershire produce feature in Claire’s inspired cooking and she is happy to prepare packed lunches for guests to enjoy whilst they are out and about in Malvern and the surrounding Worcestershire countryside.
