‘Speed bonnie boat’ to this wonderful Wolsey Lodge country house B&B on the Isle of Skye. In 10 acres, on its own private peninsula on the northern shores, Greshornish House luxury Scottish Highland B&B offers stunning views, peace and an infectious charm that captivates guests from all over the world! This elegant white Georgian house once belonged to the local laird but there has been a dwelling here for nigh on a millennium. There is a tennis court, croquet lawn and traditional walled garden for Wolsey Lodge B&B guests to enjoy.
A typical country house wood panelled hallway, complete with coats, boots and dog leads, brings you into this home-from-home luxury B&B. Comfortable sofas, log fires, billiards table and a choice of pianos are available for guests’ enjoyment and relaxation. Bedrooms are enormous (one, the former laird’s room, with antique roll-top bath), some with four posters and lovely views. All are accessorised with top quality linens and home comforts, even down to hot water bottles and choice of blankets or duvet - typical of the hosts’ attention to detail.
Enjoy meals in the airy conservatory with views across to the loch. A fantastic menu includes kippers, a full Scottish breakfast or porridge made the proper Scots way. Delicious dinners, followed by the renowned cheeseboard, are available by prior arrangement to Wolsey Lodge B&B guests and served at candlelit tables in the dining room.
Your B&B Hosts
Neil and Rosemary ran Greshornish as a country house hotel for years, recently scaling down to B&B par excellence. Rosemary had a musical career before her successful interior design business. Neil was in education, including as a boarding school housemaster. Both love music and have detailed local knowledge which they happily share with guests. The welcome they provide is just one of the many reasons why guests return year after year.
