Cuil-an-Duin Country HouseBrochure Page. 112
Of architectural significance, this outstanding Edwardian, country house B&B was once part of the estate and the private residence of the 9th Duke of Athol. Nestling in over 20 acres of woodland grounds, with south facing elevated position and just off the A9, this luxury Scottish Wolsey Lodge B&B enjoys panoramic views over the upper Tay Valley. Depending on the weather, enjoy log fires in the elegant drawing room, lovely landscaped gardens, or play the Bechstein grand!
Cuil-an-Duin has recently been fully refurbished by your hosts to an exceptional standard, in classic country style, creating an informal elegance. It is a relaxing base for exploring the numerous local attractions and a great addition to the Wolsey Lodge portfolio of luxury boutique B&Bs.
Three spacious, sumptuous bedrooms (two en suite, one with adjacent private bathroom in fabulous Art Deco style with whirlpool bath) have hand-made mattresses, Egyptian cotton linen, wool duvets or blankets, fluffy towels, locally produced toiletries, piping hot water, and, of course, lovely views.
Breakfast, including fresh eggs from the home brood and homemade preserves, is served en famille in the dual-aspect dining room. Appreciate the morning sun and the rare opportunity to watch red squirrels darting around outside.
Your B&B Hosts
Former teacher Sally returned to her roots when they made the life-changing move from Hertfordshire to Pitlochry in 2014 to create and run a luxury B&B. David, originally from Manchester, was a partner in a large financial services company. They have horses, a dog, cats and hens and a great love of the countryside, as well as musical and other cultural pursuits. They are happy to book taxis and reserve tables at the numerous excellent local establishments for their Wolsey Lodge B&B guests.
Very conveniently located as a gateway to the Highlands, Pitlochry is also a destination in its own right. Castles, Dunkeld Cathedral, distilleries, gardens, nature reserves, lochs and Scottish National Trust properties abound as well as a world-famous Scottish emporium for quality souvenirs.
