This imposing ‘Georgian’ house in Motcombe near Shaftesbury was in fact designed by Jeremy and built eight years ago to incorporate an existing house. The result is fabulous and a simply perfect Wolsey Lodge offering unrivalled luxury bed and breakfast (B&B) in an unspoilt area of Dorset. The attention to detail has been meticulous with spacious rooms adorned with beautiful fabrics and antique furnishings, all set off to perfection by Elizabeth’s paintings which grace the walls throughout. Elizabeth is an artist of note, and the dining room, decorated in chinoiserie style with glorious murals of plants, birds, trees and people in an attractive landscape, is a testament to her talent.
The B&B accommodation features bedrooms and bathrooms that are large, comfortable and offer every luxury. The delights of this Wolsey Lodge B&B don’t stop there because the gardens and grounds are also very special with terraces, a heated swimming pool and a tennis court (racquets and balls provided). There are horses in the stables (which are available for experienced guests to ride), sheep in the orchard and lovely walks around Motcombe from behind the house where deer appear in the fields. In addition to all this, Elizabeth provides guests with delicious breakfasts and dinners using local Dorset produced ingredients.

She is an excellent cook and together they are an easy going, interesting couple who enjoy having B&B guests to stay.
