The Old Rectory
No. 33 (1998)
A classic Georgian house set in Jane Austen country, The Old Rectory is quite simply perfect bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation set as it is in an acre of walled garden in the centre of the village of Headley in Hampshire. Glimpses of the church next door can be seen from the large terrace, perfect for eating outside. There is a pond and a croquet lawn in the peaceful garden in which there is colour and interest throughout the seasons and there are some specimen trees which are the owners pride and joy.
Despite its Georgian appearance, there has been a house on this site from much earlier times. There is a Tudor chimney in the drawing room, Tudor panelling in the sitting room and the cellars are Tudor. The B&B accommodation is traditionally and comfortably furnished and is, above all, a much loved family home, perfect for making Wolsey Lodge B&B guests feel as they're at home too.

Your Hosts
Robin and Phyllida Smeeton are your quite wonderful hosts at The Old Rectory in Headley. Friendliness and relaxation are the keynotes in Robin and Phyllida's home. Robin is a retired publisher and Phyllida was, for many years, involved with The Garden Museum (formerly The Museum of Garden History), which was founded by her parents. She organises garden visits in England and abroad and her beautiful garden is testament to the fact that she is an imaginative gardener, whose husband does all the real hard graft!
