Cormiston Farm No. 119 (9928)
This is one of the most friendly bed and breakfast (B&B) houses we have ever had the pleasure to visit. The house itself is warm, welcoming and beautifully decorated and Richard, your host, is charming, energetic and dedicated to providing B&B guests with the perfect ‘home from home' experience. Grade B listed, the accommodation dates from the 1790's with later additions. Retaining many of the original Georgian and Victorian features it also boasts glorious views from the windows across the stunnning Lanarkshire countryside.

Tea and homemade cakes in the pretty sitting room in front of a log fire revive you after your journey to Scotland and excite the taste buds in anticipation of the delicious dinner to come. The luxury B&B accommodation includes bedrooms that are traditionally decorated and furnished in keeping with the style of the house and are absolutely beautiful with the finest linen and lots of lovely finishing touches, huge bay windows with those wonderful, wonderful views and superb bathrooms, one of which has kept its original Victorian bath.

Your Hosts
Richard and Kate Philipps are your hosts at Cormiston Farm. Richard is a defence analyst who has worked for the United Nations for several years. Since returning from The Hague he has concentrated on running the house, looking after his children and entertaining B&B guests and in his spare time restoring the Georgian steading at the rear of the house. Kate, a former international rower, now works full time as a doctor in Edinburgh.

The Location
Cormiston Farm is situated in Biggar in Lanarkshire and lies within 2 acres of mature garden and woodland, incorporating a walled kitchen garden where Richard grows vegetables and fruit, and is a wonderfully family friendly house for B&B guests travelling with children.

Lanarkshire is a fascinating area of Scotland, steeped in history but also teeming with wildlife and natural beauty. It boasts the UN World Heritage Site of New Lanark, Falls of Clyde Wildlife Reserve, as well as trout fishing on the River Clyde.
