Firgrove
No. 130 (6976)
Overlooking the Vale of Clwyd in Denbighshire, Wales, the gardens surrounding Firgrove are a blend of exotic, colourful and inspired planting that will delight gardening enthusiasts and non-gardeners alike. The house itself is a Grade II listed Georgian gem and home since the mid 1980’s to your hosts Philip and Anna Meadway who offer outstanding luxury bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation.
The graciousness of a bygone era overlays brightly decorated rooms furnished with antiques, collectibles, art and photographs whilst from every window there are views of the garden and countryside beyond. The B&B accommodation will delight Wolsey Lodge guests - one guest room is in the main house whilst the second – the cottage suite – has a separate entrance and a sitting room with a fire. Everything a Wolsey Lodge guest could wish for in a B&B has been thought of right down to the home made scones on your arrival.
Dining here is a particular pleasure with a menu offering local, seasonal Welsh produce all cooked to perfection and enjoyed in a relaxed and exceptionally friendly atmosphere. Breakfast features a medley of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, ham and cheese as well as a traditional cooked option which, together with Philip and Anna’s intimate knowledge of the best places to visit in Ruthin, Denbighshire and beyond, really will set you up for the day ahead.
