At Jackanory House in Wallington you will find a comfortable and spacious Edwardian home that has been recently refurbished to offer those extra levels of comfort that our guests have come to expect from a Wolsey Lodge.

Close to the facilities of Croydon, half an hour from central London and within easy reach of Gatwick Airport, this is a convenient destination for a stay in the capital or for staying ahead of flying out of Gatwick – the ample parking means you can leave your car here and take the regular coach service from the end of the road to Gatwick. Gaye and Peter Fisher are very relaxed hosts ensuring that you feel at home from the moment you arrive.

There are two very comfortable bedrooms, one with a wonderful en suite bathroom and one with a private bathroom and each with large baths, power showers, indulgent toiletries and fresh flowers. WiFi is available throughout the house.

Breakfast is delicious with fresh fruit aplenty and a choice of a lighter continental or full English menu. In addition to the patio and games area in the garden, the spacious summer house with built-in BBQ provides a great area for enjoying dinner under the stars.

Gaye and Peter are natural hosts who love entertaining guests in their home. A passionate foodie, Gaye runs cookery classes for children and young adults and is an active supporter of the Real Bread Campaign. Peter is a former company director and a keen follower of many sports. Together they enjoy the delights of the many theatres and cinemas on their doorstep.

The Location

Whether staying for just a few days or longer, Wallington provides quick links to the centre of London as well as further afield. Hampton Court Palace, Kew Gardens, Chartwell – home to Winston Churchill, Kingston Upon Thames and of course the many sporting venues, including Wimbledon. It is also convenient for racing at Epsom and Sandown Park.

From M25 J7 take A23 to Coulsdon, left on A237 towards Wallington. Continue across A2022 and seventh road on left is Hawthorn Road which is in two parts. Drive down hill, cross Park Hill Road, and Jackanory House is about 200 metres on left. (Green fence and high hedge). Detailed directions available on request.
