Shoelands House
Lodge No 81A
It really is hard to believe that this lovely old manor house, situated on the edge of the Hampton Estate which is home to Sarah’s family, is so close to London and Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
The peace, tranquillity and glorious landscape of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty needs to be experienced to fully appreciate it and Sarah and Clive are just the people to experience it with. Their beautiful old house, filled with original Jacobean architectural features and antique furnishings, also offers every modern comfort. The house is full of character with timber beams, wood panelling, stone fireplaces and a beautiful Jacobean carved frieze around the walls in the drawing room.
The traditional English country gardens are lovely, with sweeping lawns, herbaceous borders and glorious trees, where the sounds of birdsong, bleating lambs or cows waiting to be milked add to the peaceful atmosphere. From the afternoon tea served on arrival, the hearty breakfasts and the delicious suppers served using the finest fresh ingredients from the Estate, you will be looked after like family friends, and if you want to eat out, there are several very good local pubs in the vicinity.
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
Sarah and Clive have created a family home where guests feel comfortable and at ease immediately. They are so easy to talk to, nothing is too much trouble and they have a great knowledge of the area which they happily share with their guests. Sarah was a guide at Sutton Place and its art collection and Clive has been involved in the food industry and travelled extensively.
