Set in three and a half acres of tranquil gardens and surrounded by its own moat, this listed Grade II medieval house is of noted historical and architectural interest. Dating from 1460, with Georgian additions, the sloping floors and wealth of oak beams give a truly authentic atmosphere of bygone times, providing the ideal retreat from the stresses of modern life.

The ambience is warm, relaxed and cosy. There is an enormous fireplace in the guest lounge and the luxurious bedrooms have many thoughtful additions. Full of character, the charming suite has a large deluxe power shower, and the four poster room has a Victorian rolltop bath with power shower over. They both share views of the gardens and the Romney Marsh beyond.

The extensive grounds, including a paddock with elderly pet sheep and angora goat, attract all kinds of wildlife - making the Olde Moat House a wonderful setting in which to unwind.

There are many castles and gardens nearby, such as Bodiam, Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Leeds, Dover and Deal. Ashford, with its continental rail link through the Channel Tunnel and the ports of Dover and Folkestone are also within easy reach.

From M20 leave at junction 10 - take A2070 for approx 10 miles, and then turn left to Ivychurch. Olde Moat House will be found after approx ¾ mile on the left.
