The Old Rectory

Lodge No 44B

The Old Rectory is a classic example of the grand Victorian Gothic style. Built in 1868 it exudes character from the outside and oozes charm, luxury and traditional style inside. Recently refurbished and restored with tranquil colours and beautiful fabrics to create a calm and restful haven that guests won’t want to leave, this house offers every comfort and luxury along with fine food and hospitality.

On arrival afternoon tea is served in the drawing room and on the other side of the Victorian tiled hall is the dining room with its huge refectory table and dresser and both these rooms have wood burning stoves for those chilly evenings. The walls of The Old Rectory are adorned with many of Jon’s paintings and the bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and luxurious with comfortable beds and fine linen.

The one acre garden which leads down to the village church is filled with palms, yuccas, rhododendrons and other exotic plants that thrive in the almost Mediterranean micro climate of this part of the island. Guests are welcome to use the Artic Spa hot tub which is situated under a gazebo.

Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts

Jon and Selina were both teachers in their previous life; Jon taught Art and Design and is an accomplished artist whilst Selina taught music and plays the lovely old Bluthner grand piano in the drawing room. They are a relaxed, welcoming couple who take great pride in ensuring their guests enjoy their stay, both in their home and on the island and are happy to suggest places to visit along with good pubs and restaurants.
