This beautifully converted barn has its own entrance into a sitting room with a welcoming wood burning stove and private dining area and two very stylish ground floor, oak beamed, bedrooms each with a stunning en suite bathroom. Cari is a wonderful hostess, offering tea and homemade cakes on arrival, delicious dinners or suppers if required and the sort of breakfast that sets one up for a day spent exploring this lovely area, all produced using mostly local ingredients.

The ground floor bedrooms mean that this house is ideal for less able guests and Cari excels at making sure their needs are met. From the front of the house is a spectacular view of Hambledon Hill and if you follow the footpath from the end of the driveway to the top of the hill you will be rewarded with amazing views over five counties and the knowledge that you have achieved a climb of some 603 feet and therefore thoroughly deserve to relax in luxury on your return.

Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts

Cari and Peter are welcoming and charming hosts who look after guests as if they are old friends. Peter works in nearby Sherborne whilst Cari looks after the house, their two sons, the family's dogs and somehow manages to run a jewellery business as well. They both love this area of Dorset and love sharing their favourite places with guests.

The Location

Dorset is a wonderful county, boasting glorious coastline, beautiful countryside, pretty villages and market towns and some of the most archaeologically important sites in the country along the Jurassic coast. Sherborne with its castle and Abbey is close by and there are magnificent houses and gardens at Kingston Lacy, Athelhampton House, Longleat and Stourhead within easy reach.

Heading south on the A350 from Shaftesbury turn right at the sign "Child Okeford 3 miles". Nearly 3 miles later our drive is on the left immediately in front of a 20mph road sign.
