Wonderful location, beautiful house, warm and welcoming hosts – what more could anyone want than Heath Close? Well, how about spacious, comfortable bedrooms with fine linen, tea trays, television and internet access and superb en suite bathrooms with luxurious toiletries and fluffy towels? Heath Close which is a fine example of local Budleigh architecture was built in the 1920s and opened its doors to guests in the summer of 2008.

Breakfast, which has been described as more of an event than just breakfast, is served in the sunny, south facing dining room and there is a large and comfortable sitting room where guests can relax after a day out exploring this lovely area. An exquisite blend of antique furniture, prints and family photographs give this room a particularly welcoming feel. When the weather is fine there is the garden terrace to enjoy, which overlooks the glorious gardens.

There is also a separate cottage just a few yards from the house with an en suite shower room and small kitchen for making tea and coffee and guests who stay there join the others in the main house for breakfast.

Alison is a former air hostess with a major airline who thoroughly enjoys sharing her beautiful home with guests. She is a very keen gardener and an avid rugby fan as her two sons are both professional players.

The Location

Situated in a quiet area of Budleigh Salterton, an unspoilt seaside town, and just a short walk from the South West Coastal path, this is the perfect location for exploring East Devon. The Jurrasic Coast, Exeter Cathedral, the birthplace of Sir Walter Raleigh and The Eden Project are all within easy reach. There are also wonderful walks and opportunities for horse riding, cycling and sailing plus the chance of seeing rare birds on the River Otter estuary.

Leave Budleigh Salterton High Street towards Exmouth. Continue along West Hill which becomes Exmouth Road. Landowne Road is the last road on the left before leaving Budleigh Salterton. Heath Close is second house on the left.
