Edington House
Lodge No 91
Edington House is one of the most spectacular houses you are likely to stay in. Dating from the mid 1600's, character and history abound. Inge and Robert are only the second owners since the house was built, and they have created a wonderful home filled with stunning antiques, beautiful paintings and porcelain. Sumptuous fabrics and vases of flowers from the gardens adorn the rooms and the kitchen garden has plenty of fruit and vegetables.
The beautiful drawing room overlooks the lawn and terrace and many of the other rooms retain original panelling along with fascinating alcoves, arches and fine wooden and stone floors. Bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and beautifully finished (the main bedroom has a four poster bed) and the en suite bathrooms have everything guests could wish for. Inge is an accomplished cook who prepares delicious breakfasts and dinner or supper using local ingredients from local producers and her own freshly made fruit juices.
The gardens are filled with trees, shrubs and flowers and a three acre orchard is home to the family ponies. A Georgian summer house and an arched Georgian alcove provide relaxed seating whilst the more active may use the tennis court and swimming pool.
