Renovated and refurbished by the owners, it is an oasis of calm colours and beautiful furnishings. Comfortable, welcoming bedrooms have televisions, tea trays and luxury bathrooms en suite. The sitting room just for guests, has an open fire for relaxing evenings.

Tea and homemade cake on arrival at Helland House offers guests a taste of the culinary delights to come should guests choose to have dinner. Menus are always seasonal and often include fruit and vegetables from the garden, meat and fish are locally sourced. A feature of a visit to Helland House is that Gill will prepare dinner for up to eight people if guests wish to entertain during their stay. Flowers can be ordered and delivered to celebrate a special occasion, just contact Gill for help.

The terrace is a delightful spot to enjoy an early supper, or breakfast on a warm summer morning surrounded by the pretty cottage garden.

Gill loves meeting and entertaining people. She has travelled extensively and lived abroad for some time. In her spare time she visits and looks after her family, plays tennis and loves to spend time with friends. Gill has a wealth of information about the area and will happily advise on places to visit and eat out.

The Location

A superb area, Helland is located on the Somerset levels. The surrounding hills, Quantocks and Brendons offer great views for walkers. Visit the RSPB Wetlands reserve at West Sedgemoor for wildlife, the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury and nearby Taunton with its farmers' markets and shops. Closer to home, the beautiful North Curry church is known as the 'Cathedral of the Moors' and well worth a visit.
