Purtington Barn
Lodge No 79A
A hidden gem tucked away in a valley in the midst of some of the most beautiful countryside in Somerset awaits those in the know. The hamlet of Purtington is close to Cricket St Thomas and the once derelict barn was part of the estate. Elizabeth and Peter have spent three years on renovations to create the glorious home they now have and are justifiably proud of their achievement.
The house is decorated and furnished to the highest standard to provide a comfortable and welcoming experience for those fortunate people who arrive as guests and leave as friends. The bedrooms are spacious and beautifully decorated and the luxurious bathrooms are supplied with all the finishing touches one could wish for. Guests are welcome to relax in either sitting room.
Outside, there is a terrace and lawn leading to a stream and wildlife garden with a summer house for guests to relax in. The fields beyond are home to Elizabeth and Peters’ horses,Shetland cattle and Kune Kune pigs. Elizabeth enjoys provising her guests with fabulous breakfasts, homemade cakes and imaginative dinners.
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
Elizabeth and Peter are the most welcoming, friendly hosts. Peter is an engineer who now runs his own building company whilst Elizabeth is an interior designer, and the decoration of the barn and the design of the wonderful kitchen where guests enjoy breakfast pay testimony to this. They are both keen horse riders and share an interest in historic property and antiques.
