Just as the name suggests, Seven Acres House, situated on a country lane surrounded by open countryside on the western edge of the Broads, is set in extensive grounds with lawns, a woodland dell and restful meadow walks. An Edwardian house that has been home to William and Denis since 2004, Seven Acres is furnished in an individual style with well-loved pieces reflecting a lifetime’s collecting.

A delicious locally-sourced breakfast is served in the bright morning room overlooking the terrace where guests may relax when they arrive and during their stay. In warmer months, guests may enjoy afternoon tea among the seasonal array of colourful and scented flowers on the terrace overlooking the grounds.

Upstairs, the two guest rooms, which have a southerly aspect over the gardens, are individually and carefully furnished in keeping with the style of the house: there are interesting books, a delightful tea-tray and comfortable en suites equipped with all those thoughtful touches that make all the difference to your stay.

William and Denis both retired early and found their perfect home in Norfolk. Charming and lively conversationalists they are perfect hosts offering an intimate knowledge of the best places to visit in the area and providing a welcome that sees their guests returning time and again.

The Location

Boat trips on the Broads are a feature of any stay here but not to be missed are the fabulous beaches, a visit to Norwich, bird watching in the Nature Reserves, walking and cycling. A narrow gauge steam train which runs between Aylsham and Hoveton can be boarded at a halt just a few minutes walk from the house. National Trust properties such as Blickling and Felbrigg and the magnificent Holkham Estate are within easy reach and restaurants and pubs offer fine dining close by. Too much for one stay so be sure to plan a return visit.
