Coppins House
Lodge No 97A
At the end of mile long lane leading from the pretty village of Stanstead you will come across a 17th century, Grade II listed farmhouse that has been carefully restored to offer a true ‘home from home’ stay for lucky visitors. With skylarks singing and the distant sound of fallow deer in the woods, it would be hard to find a quieter location than Coppins House.
Careful renovations and extension of the house have blended modern comforts into this ancient building, all overlaid with a careful choice of furnishings to give a homely feel. The hub of the house is the Aga warmed kitchen from which other rooms in the house lead off giving guests the choice to relax in the galleried library with its warming open fire, or in the cosy retreat of the guests’ sitting room.
The guest bedroom with its Chinese themed en suite is very comfortably furnished with great care taken over the choice of furnishings and linen and enjoys views over the garden and nearby woodland. Breakfast too is a delight of fresh fruit, local Suffolk cured bacon, eggs from the resident bantams and honey from Claire’s bees.
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
Claire has run her own ceramics business in the past before turning her attention to her home and family. When she isn’t busy looking after guests she is busy working on a business degree. A keen cook and hostess, guests are warmly welcomed and made to feel at home.
