Laurel and Jeff offer their guests the warmest of welcomes and the most exceptional food you are likely to find anywhere. This glorious 17th century house oozes charm and character with a cosy drawing room and oak panelled dining room where guests can dine by candlelight off fine china, crystal and silverware which do justice to the fabulous a la carte menu featuring locally sourced meat and fish, the freshest home grown vegetables and home baked breads and pastries.

Then, after relaxing in the drawing room with after dinner coffee, retire to bed and sink into the arms of Morpheus cocooned in fine linen on sumptuous beds - absolute bliss! This really is a gem of a house where no detail is overlooked from the welcoming glass of sherry, fresh flowers and fruit in the bedrooms to luxurious bathrooms that tempt you to linger as you relax in a scented bath. Incidentally, one of the bedrooms is situated on the ground floor and is perfect for less able guests.

Laurel and Jeff are a fantastic team - they both love welcoming guests into their home and ensuring they are comfortable and spoiled. Laurel is an accomplished chef having owned her own restaurant whilst Jeff is a retired company Chairman who also enjoys cooking and supporting the running of the house.

The Location

Holly House is within walking distance of the HQ of the ILPH (International League for the Protection of Horses) and close to the famous Snetterton motor racing circuit, Duxford Air Museum and Bressingham Steam Museum. The beautiful cities of Norwich, Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds are within easy reach as is Newmarket race course. There are glorious stately homes at Holkham, Sandringham and Ickworth whilst the Norfolk Broads and North Norfolk Coast are only an hour away.

A11 from Thetford take junction signed B1111 (Watton-Garboldisham-East Harling). At T junction turn right, passing under A11. Turn next left signed A11 London, Thetford then immediately turn right before rejoining A11 (signed ‘Angel Inn'). Continue past the Angel Inn, back over the A11. Holly House (a pink thatched house with tall front hedging) can be found on this road half a mile on the left hand side.
