A memorable Anglo-American welcome awaits from the Bassetts, ably assisted by Bonnie the dog, at this beautifully restored Grade II listed, thatched farmhouse. A light, bright interior enhances the décor and ambience which is an effortless blend of cosy old world charm and relaxed modern living, enhanced by treasures from the couple's extensive travels.

It is a well loved home, by its owners and their guests - a place to share warm hospitality, fine food and friendship. The hosts are avid and inventive cooks who take pride in serving the best ingredients in a variety of delicious ways. The lounge and bedrooms (named after composers as befits the home of two musicians: the four poster Rossini; the twin Verdi and Vivaldi the single) all have views of the old flint church. The first floor landing, the kitchen, lounge, den and conservatory all overlook the garden that Richard lovingly nurtures.

Just under an acre, the garden produces a year round colourful display from spring bulbs, to begonias and petunias in summer, reliable asters flowering into the autumn, to pansies peeking from hanging baskets in winter.

Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts

Richard and Georgia came to England as music teachers over thirty years ago and have made it their home. They have now stopped teaching music to concentrate on entertaining guests and also on The Association for Music in International Schools, which has Church Farm House as its headquarters.

The Location

Church Farm House is well situated for visits to Norwich, Bury St. Edmunds, the Suffolk heritage coast, the North Norfolk coast and a host of National Trust houses and gardens.

Take the A11 to Thetford then A1066 towards Diss. At South Lopham turn to North Lopham in front of White Horse Pub. Continue about 1 mile. Church Farm House is opposite North Lopham church.
