This beautifully restored 16th century Breton manor house is fabulous. Approached along a cool, leafy avenue of trees and surrounded by 7½ acres of peaceful and tranquil gardens it is hard to believe you are only 5 minutes from the town centre with its busy shops and markets. Inside, the use of traditional limewash colours and sumptuous furnishings perfectly enhance the ancient granite building. Both the sitting room and dining room are charming with tall french windows to allow the summer sun to stream in and roaring fires in huge fireplaces keep you warm in winter.

The bedrooms all overlook the baroque courtyard and are individually decorated with beautiful antiques and finds from the local antique/brocante shops, fine linens, and fresh flowers from the garden and each bedroom has its own beautifully decorated en suite bathroom. The gardens, besides being a place of relaxation with quiet spaces and a croquet lawn, provide most of the delicious fruit and vegetables served by Penny. This really is a gem of a house offering the most wonderful hospitality to those fortunate enough to stay here.

Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts

Penny and Peter take great pleasure from welcoming guests into their home. Penny is a passionate interior decorator, gardener and cook and a wonderfully warm and generous hostess. Peter, an ex-army officer, thatcher and mountaineer turns his hand to most things in the renovation and development of both the house and garden.

The Location

This area of Brittany is rich in history ranging from megalithic standing stones at Carnac through Roman towns, medieval gardens and chateaux. There are fabulous beaches and coastal scenery around the Crozon peninsular and beautiful Breton villages to visit along with walks, festivals of music, art and theatre.

From the east, take first exit for Carhaix off N164. After 200 metres take the 3rd exit on roundabout west towards Carhaix. Next roundabout take 3rd exit (southern by-pass). This passes between a Citroen and Peugeot garage. Over next roundabout and down hill. Cinema on the left and garden centre on the right. Turn left 100 metres after garden centre. Manoir de Kerledan 300 metres on the right.
