Flat 1A, Alvington House
Lodge No 67A
Tucked away in the heart of Wimbledon village is an exquisite Edwardian house, home to Ronnie and Sue Dunbar and affable Labrador, Wallace. This large house is split into four apartments and Flat 1A spreads out across the ground floor to a bright conservatory overlooking the gardens. The All England Lawn Tennis Club is on the doorstep, Wimbledon Common is just a short stroll away and you are rarely more than a few minutes from designer shops and cafes aplenty.
Ronnie and Sue are Scottish and together run an interior design business which is evident throughout the house where carefully selected furnishings are interspersed with antiques and modern conveniences like the walk-in shower in the en suite bathroom. The Aga is the central point of the kitchen and meals are enjoyed around the table where the French doors open onto the conservatory and garden beyond.
The guest bedroom is well equipped for a comfortable stay and the adjoining sitting room is yours to use exclusively – a great retreat after a day’s sightseeing. There is also a small single bedroom available if you are travelling with a child aged 10 or over. Tea and cake on arrival, delicious breakfasts and dinner if pre-arranged go hand in hand with conversation and laughter to make this Wolsey Lodge a real gem.
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
Ronnie is a chartered accountant with a keen interest in golf and most other sports and Sue was a nurse before turning her skilled hand to interior design and her other interest is evident in the gorgeous garden here.
