Leave the traffic behind and turn off into a peaceful country lane overhung with trees. The 200 year old house, tucked away at the far end, is a black and white cottage smothered in fiery pyracantha and early flowering roses. It stands in an acre of mature gardens, shaded by old apple trees.

In a house where you run out of superlatives, Patty and David welcome you, enthusiastically assisted by Tilly and Poppy, the friendly family Labradors. Having been shown to your room, join them for tea or coffee in the drawing room or garden.

Guests love the 'old world' charm with low ceilings and latched doors and find it easy to wind down in the cosy and comfortable drawing room. Bedrooms are comfortable and well appointed; the double with en suite bathroom; and the twin with en suite shower and hand basin. There is a private bathroom directly opposite.

Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts

Patty, once a nursing sister at St. Mary's Hospital London, is an excellent cook who enjoys entertaining. An informal two course kitchen supper is available unless guests have booked dinner and in summer, they have barbecues, weather permitting. David was articled with Ernst and Young, prior to several financial appointments in the City. An accomplished raconteur, he is now the getaway driver who will take travellers to and from Heathrow. Long-term parking (space permitting) is available for guests by prior arrangement.

The Location

London, with its myriad attractions, is only 35 minutes by Underground. Closer to home, Windsor, Eton, Oxford, Blenheim, Cliveden, Waddesdon Manor, Woburn Abbey, Domey Court, Hatfield House, Kew, Wisley, Sunningdale and Royal Ascot are all easy drives.

From centre of Uxbridge, take A4007 (signed Slough and Iver Heath) for approximately 1 mile to mini roundabout. Straight over, within 15 yards cross small bridge over River Colne then almost immediately turn right into Cherry Tree Lane, Lambourn is third house on the right from the far end.
