Shakespeare House
Lodge No 2A
This magnificent, restored Elizabethan former coaching inn is, according to tradition, where William Shakespeare stayed when travelling between Stratford-upon-Avon and London although he would not have enjoyed the comforts that it offers today.
This really is a delight – offering guests comfort and style whilst retaining original beams, inglenook fireplaces and winding staircases. Roy and Nick have created a dream home and nothing has been overlooked, from the sumptuous furnishings throughout the house to the well stocked tea trays in the bedrooms, the gorgeous toiletries in the bathrooms and on to the beautifully restored parterre garden at the rear of the house. Log fires in the drawing room and dining room simply entice one to stay and relax after a wonderful dinner before retiring for a perfect nights sleep in one of the fabulous bedrooms.
Breakfast is a treat with freshly baked bread, fresh fruits, juices and cereals and continental or full English breakfast available. The bedrooms and bathrooms are particularly fine, luxurious linen, stylish fabrics and comfortable sofas in the bedrooms whilst the bathrooms have either baths, spa baths or walk in shower rooms with soothing body jets – heavenly!
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
Roy and Nick are property developers and interior designers by profession and oversaw the restoration and design of the house which is now a showpiece for their particular style. They are both keen cooks and 'foodies' who produce fabulous menus and bake their own organic bread fresh for guests every day.
