Fermyn Woods Hall
Lodge No 74
Fermyn Woods Hall has its' origins in the 14th century but the main part of the house was built in the 17th and 18th centuries and that sense of history has been captured perfectly by the restoration work that your hosts David and Mary have carried out over the last four years.
The central entrance hall with magnificent carved oak staircase gives way to the spacious living rooms furnished with mellow antiques and warmed by log fires. The bedrooms are full of character and beautifully furnished and have en suite or private bathrooms. The four poster bedroom has views across the gardens and park and it's private bathroom features a large roll top bath, whilst another room boasts a large French oak marriage bed.
The views from all the bedrooms are wonderful, taking in 350 acres where Longhorn cattle, Swaledale sheep and competition horses now graze. Locally sourced meat and seasonal vegetables are beautifully prepared and served in either the Victorian kitchen or the more formal dining room.
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
David is a conservation architect who has used his considerable expertise to oversee the restoration of their beautiful home. Mary runs cookery courses with celebrity chefs and the park is run as an organic farm. They are a charming couple with a wide range of interests and are delighted to share their home and surrounding area with their guests. Mary will be happy to welcome guests to her cookery days or weekends and will be pleased to provide information on request.
