Hanover House
Lodge No 49
The genteel spa town of Cheltenham provides an elegant backdrop to Hanover House, a lovingly restored Victorian Italianate townhouse. Nestled below the imposing Cotswold escarpment in a secluded yet central location, you’ll be made to feel most welcome from the moment you arrive and sit down to tea and home baked scones.
Hanover House is filled with classic features of its period overlaid with relaxed and very comfortable décor and furnishings. Fresh flowers and paintings adorn the house together with pictures of Elgar and his wife Alice, who once lived here. In the colder months, a fire is lit in the drawing room, whilst the tranquil garden beckons visitors on warmer days to explore its walled boundaries which extend down to the River Chelt and the Chelt walk beyond.
Filled with classical music and books which reflect the interests of Veronica and her husband James, Hanover House offers guests a luxurious stay in a charming house with a fascinating history.
