Set on a hillside above Wells, Stoberry House has breathtaking panoramic views over the city, its Cathedral and the magical and mystical Glastonbury Tor. Originally a coach house, Stoberry is now home to Tim and Frances.
The garden, which has featured in magazines and on television, was designed by Frances to provide colour all year round and is filled with fabulous plants, sculptures, ponds, a box maze, paths and hidden seating areas where guests can revel in the peace and tranquillity which belies the fact that it is only a few minutes walk to the city centre.
Inside, the house is comfortable, stylish and furnished with family antiques and beautiful antique items collected on their travels. The bedrooms and bathrooms are filled with luxurious, handmade bath potions, lotions, robes and slippers and guests can relax in the drawing room, TV room or their own sitting room.
Breakfast is Continental, with fresh fruit and juices, delicious breads and jams, pastries, hams and cheeses, or a delicious cooked breakfast is available on request for a small supplement. Dinner can be enjoyed in one of Wells many restaurants which Frances will book for you or, by prior arrangement, you can enjoy dinner at Stoberry House.
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
Frances has a colonial background and Tim is an international water engineering consultant and they have travelled extensively throughout Africa. Frances has a background in the hotel industry, taught cooking and catered commercially and now combines her love of good food and entertaining to provide guests with a memorable stay.
The Location
So much to see and do! The wonderful city of Wells and its Cathedral, the Bishops Palace and Gardens, Open Market and Vicar’s Close. Wookey Hole Caves and Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Abbey and Glastonbury Tor are not to be missed. There are also many excellent walks around Wells and the Quantocks.

From Bristol or Bath enter Wells on A39; Immediately after 30mph sign turn left into College Road, then left through wrought iron gateway into Stoberry Park. At top of park bear right and follow tar driveway into walled garden.
