The chance to stay in a beautifully restored watermill is rare, so this is a very special opportunity. The restoration, masterminded by Peter, has been sympathetically carried out using old materials and traditional skills. The mill workings are still in place and there is a large glass window looking out onto the mill race complete with a glass panel in the floor to watch the water plummeting below. Hazeland Mill is built on the side of a steep hill in the hamlet of Bremhill, in a beautiful unspoilt valley

Spacious bedrooms, with en suite bathrooms, are decorated and furnished with luxurious fabrics and fine furniture. There is also a delightful cottage with sitting room and bathroom just opposite the front door of the main house.

The dining room has a lovely wood burning stove and a comfortable sitting room for guests to use. The eight acre gardens include beautifully tended lawns and flower beds with a large vegetable garden. A large terrace offers an alternative dining area or somewhere to just relax and enjoy the views. Jennie is a fine cook who uses home grown fruit and vegetables and locally sourced meat and fish. Breakfast and dinner are not to be missed.

Peter is a commercial property surveyor and enjoys shooting, stalking and fishing whilst Jennie has a background in retail. They are a most welcoming couple who like to ensure their guests have a wonderful stay and nothing is too much trouble.

The Location

Hazeland Mill is perfectly located for the historic cities of Bath, Devizes and Marlborough. The magnificent Bowood House is within walking distance and there are open air concerts held at Bowood, Lacock and Westonbirt. Longleat House and Wildlife Park, Badminton and the Cotswold Water Park, Westonbirt Arboretum and Avebury are all easily accessible.

M4 Junction 17, A350 to Chippenham, A4 to Calne. Before reaching Calne take left turn signed Bremhill. Follow lane for 1 mile and take first left turn at Dumb Post Pub. Hazeland Mill is at bottom of hill by river.
