Splendid food, convivial company and truly wonderful hospitality are to be found at Pitfour House, a quintessentially English experience in a charming Georgian home, which boasts a beautiful staircase and cupola. Situated in the rural village of Timsbury just outside Bath, the house, which stands back from the High Street, has a wonderfully mellow stone façade, glimpsed beyond large gates.

Tea and home made delicacies are served on arrival, after which guests may enjoy the comforts of an elegantly furnished formal sitting room with open fire. There is another separate, and more relaxed sitting room with television, and a delightful panelled dining room where guests dine superbly in the company of their hosts. Being of typical 18th century proportions, the house also offers well appointed, comfortable bedrooms, one with an en suite shower room and the other with its own adjacent bathroom.

The main walled ½ acre walled garden is to the rear of the property and is stocked with mature shrubs and trees, a productive greenhouse and a thriving vegetable garden.

Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts

Martin is a retired paediatrician and enjoys gardening and furniture restoration. Frances is a retired dentist and is a keen flower arranger. They both enjoy entertaining and the challenge of providing good quality food using home grown produce whenever possible.

The Location

Timsbury is an interesting rural village with many scenic walks nearby. Bath is within an easy drive, with the great advantage of a Park & Ride just 4 miles from the house. Other places of interest include the cathedral city of Wells, Glastonbury, Tynesfield and SS Great Britain in Bristol.

How to find Pitfour House Bed & Breakfast (B&B).

Take A367 from Bath to Radstock and Wells. After 3 miles turn right onto B3115 (Timsbury and Tunley). Continue for 4 miles to Timsbury. Turn left after shops into Newmans Lane, bearing right into the High Street. Pitfour House is 50 yards on the right.
