Upper Buckton
Lodge No 72
Splendidly set in 400 acres of the unspoilt Teme Valley, this elegant Georgian farmhouse looking south over the river towards the Wigmore Rolls, offers sophisticated hospitality in beautiful relaxed surroundings. A large, mature garden, a masterpiece in light and shade, is brimming with unusual herbaceous plants, flourishing lilies and hostas around a 12th century motte, ha-ha and millstream.
Guests are cosseted in this genteel three storey gentleman's residence, with well proportioned and attractively decorated rooms, containing beautiful antiques and paintings, collected over many years. Elegant bedrooms, with the emphasis on comfortable furnishings, have beautiful cotton appliqué sheets and pillowcases on the lovely beds, which can be either twin or super king doubles, and have en suite or private bathrooms complete with special finishing touches.
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
Hayden and Yvonne have been farming at Upper Buckton for over three decades. They have a wide knowledge and love of the surrounding countryside and enjoy introducing their guests to this unspoilt part of the Welsh Borders. They are warm hosts who endeavour to make guests feel immediately relaxed and at home in their haven of peace, good humour and great food. Yvonne's cooking is an imaginative and sophisticated blend of traditional and Cordon Bleu cooking. Hayden takes great care over the wine list, which features the best European and New World wines.
