Winstone Glebe
Lodge No 36
Warm hospitality, excellent cooking and great peace is assured in this small Georgian Rectory, set in a Domesday listed village. Surrounded by ten acres of quiet garden and paddocks, with panoramic views over the Cotswold Hills, Winstone Glebe is the perfect rural retreat.
Tea awaits guests in the drawing room in front of a blazing log fire or, on fine days, in the garden. Comfortable, traditionally furnished guest rooms have classic furniture and floral fabrics, giving them a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. All rooms have large comfortable beds.
The garden, which includes a tennis court, was originally laid out by Dame Sylvia Crowe in the l950s. Susanna has softened these rather austere bones with masses of spring bulbs and herbaceous planting, providing year round colour, from carpets of aconites in January, to Sedum - Autumn Joy - which retains its architectural beauty through to December.
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
Dinner is superbly prepared by Susanna, a professional cook who once ran the Cordon Bleu Restaurant. Shaun has lived in the Cotswolds all his life and is very familiar with the area.
