Castle House
Lodge No 166
Along a driveway set amidst ancient woodland alongside Denbigh Castle you will discover the secret delight of Castle House, an early Victorian mansion restored to offer the ultimate in luxury and comfort. Ornate ceilings, moulded cornices, original and elaborate fireplaces have all been preserved and overlaid with modern comforts such as underfloor heating and lavish bathrooms.
From the imposing hallway you will be treated to home baked scones on arrival, often in front of a warming fire in the drawing room. Each guest bedroom has been individually styled – the ‘Dudley’ has a super king four poster with a roll top bath in the en suite bathroom; the twin room ‘Gee’ has a lighter country feel whilst a Parisienne flavour is found in the double ‘Stanley’ room. A good nights rest is assured given the care that has been taken to find the comfiest beds and cosiest duvets – utter bliss!
The mature landscaped gardens, of about 2 acres have many interesting features dating back several hundred years. The gardens extend into ancient woodland which hide two ancient monuments – Leicester’s Church built by Robert Dudley, lover of Queen Elizabeth 1, in 1587 and ancient town walls dating back to around 1280. This house’s luxury and romantic history make it truly special.
