Horseshoe Cottage Farm
Lodge No 61
Luxury in Leicestershire's Charnwood Forest awaits at Horseshoe Cottage Farm, recently converted from old stone farm buildings.
On arrival, guests can enjoy tea and Aga baked scones or homemade cakes, served on the terrace or by the inglenook fireplace in the elegant drawing room. Stone flagged floors and large oak beams in many rooms impart a sense of peacefulness and well-being. Traditional antique furniture graces the interior, especially in the pretty en suite guest bedrooms. Individually decorated with quality fabrics and furnishings, they are a haven of relaxation and the ground floor room is deal for guests less able to climb stairs.
The cottage garden with herbaceous borders, topiary, azalea and heather beds is home to flourishing kitchen gardens and an orchard where hens lay fresh eggs for breakfast. Fields beyond are laced with footpaths and Bradgate Country Park, with its herds of deer and the ruins of Lady Jane Grey's family home, make a perfect pre-dinner stroll. Overnight stabling is available for visitors with horses who wish to ride through Leicestershire's famous hunting country.
