Higher Huxley Hall
Lodge No 4
A hidden place, a joy to find. Descend from the hamlet of Huxley and the Hall emerges across the river valley with a sandstone, cobbled drive lined with a pleached hornbeam hedge, below which lies a carpet of snowdrops, primroses and cowslips in spring.
Parts of this historical 13th century manor house compliment beautiful Elizabethan additions which now dominate, such as the low beams and an exquisite oak staircase leading up to guest 'bedchambers'. En suite rooms, with views out to three castles or towards the purple Welsh Mountains, have elaborate bedheads to complement fine period furniture. Acknowledgement of more contemporary requirements is made with television, telephones and modem sockets and wireless internet.
Extensive gardens boast red breasted geese atop a calm natural pond, a large aviary of exotic Chinese golden pheasants and secluded seats from which to enjoy magnificent views. Over a summer weekend a minimum of two nights preferred.
Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts
