In the heart of the Lake District and just moments from the edge of Windermere, there is a hidden gem of a house that welcomes guests to enjoy its peaceful and secluded location, homely and luxurious decor and sumptuous food. The house is Low Fell, built in 1905 in the traditional Lake District style and home to Stephen and Louise Broughton.

Set in an acre of garden with a graceful backdrop of trees and views across the fells, the house has been beautifully furnished by Louise who has a great eye for what makes a home truly comfortable. A six foot half-tester bed is the focal point of the first floor bedroom. At the top of the house there is a small yet exquisite suite of rooms, with a heavenly six foot bed, and equally comfortable twin beds perfect for a family group or a couple who would enjoy more privacy.

Breakfast is a gastronomic delight with locally sourced, wholesome Aga-cooked food including freshly baked bread each morning, all designed to set you up for a days exploring. The bright sunny terrace overlooking the gardens provides the perfect place to unwind and relax at the end of the day. A simply perfect Wolsey Lodge set in a perfect location, what more could you ask for?

Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts

Stephen and Louise are natural hosts and as part owners and operators of the famous Mountain Goat mini bus tour company have an intimate knowledge of this beautiful area. Louise formerly ran her own interior design business whilst Stephen was a director of an international hotel company.

The Location

Low Fell is just a short stroll from Bowness on the shores of Windermere, with very nice bistros within walking distance. Close by there are many National Trust properties plus Levens Hall, Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle and Brantwood. Fell walking and watersports can also be enjoyed.
