Coldbeck House
Lodge No 18
Coldbeck House, built circa 1820 and later converted to a Victorian gentleman's residence, is full of light and boasts some stunning examples of stained glass. Garden enthusiasts will find a wealth of interesting plants and specimen trees - red squirrels and woodpeckers are regular visitors to the garden and the original mill leat (though now empty) runs through the front garden.
On arrival, guests are welcomed with refreshments in the sitting room, in front of a cosy log burning stove. All the bedrooms are spacious and have lovely views - either over the gardens and woodland or over the leat to the nearby village church. For guests looking for a romantic get-away, one room has a brass bedstead, marble fireplace and huge gilt mirror and is approached by its own staircase. Each room is individually designed with colour co-ordinated luxury linen and towels and they are all equipped with the usual tea and coffee facilities , as well as many other little touches.
