Set in two and a half acres of beautifully established gardens, this attractive Grade II listed rectory still retains its atmospheric charm from the halcyon days of the Georgian period in which it was built.

That quiet ambience prevails in the interior with an elegant drawing room, dining room, conservatory and reception hall, most adorned with original fire places and fine antique Georgian furniture. Sleep soundly in one of two spacious twin bedrooms, each in its own suite and including a large bathroom and entrance space and calming views over the gardens.

Manicured lawns, formal rose beds and 100 year old yew hedges form the framework of the garden, accented with a fountain, orchard, a listed greenhouse, a kitchen garden with listed wall and a croquet lawn. Four acres of pastureland, planted with hardwoods and a lovely ride through it, surrounds the garden.

Your Bed & Breakfast Hosts

Simon and Lillie love their home and garden and entertaining their many friends. Having travelled considerably, they enjoy meeting people and their hospitality now extends to their Wolsey Lodge guests, who are assured of a warm welcome. Simon is a wine merchant who loves shooting, stalking deer and fishing. Lillie is half French and loves cooking imaginative food.

Manfield Grange is five miles south west of Darlington in the village of Manfield, three miles from the A1. Close by is Durham Cathedral and Chester-le-Street cricket ground, as is Teesside Airport, and Croft Circuit is 5 miles away.
